Three Easy and Simple SEO Tricks for Blogspot Bloggers

June 29, 2016

If you're not living under the rocks, for sure, you have already heard or encountered the term search engine optimization or SEO.

For bloggers who accumulate thousands or millions of page views per month, utilizing a self-hosted website is a must. A self-hosted website allows the bloggers to customized the features and make the most out of the SEO aspect of the site. On the other hand, for other bloggers (like me! :)) who has a limited number of views, settling in a Blogspot blog is a legit move.

SEO and Blogspot blogs don't work really great, at least for my perspective and experience. In fact, most of the websites that land the first few pages of the search engine are self-hosted. If you'r
e a Blogspot blogger, you don't have to worry much about SEO but we can still do something in order to avail its advantages.

I was able to experience a self-hosted website for almost 2 months and I didn't enjoy it as much as Blogspot. For me, the simple format of Blogspot makes it the best platform for beginners and hobby bloggers.

  • Customize the post URL link

Blogspot comes with a feature that allows you to create custom permalink. In customizing the post URL link, it's important to keep in mind that it must close to the title of the post. It also helps to remove the "stop words" (words bypassed by search engine algorithm)
  • Arrange the blog post based on labels and related posts

Another easy trick is to keep the blog posts arranged. Adding labels is the easiest way to organize the blog posts. This is an effective method to help the blog readers visit one topic to another.
  • Format Blogspot images

Instead of saving "DSC1101.jpg", why not change it to the keywords strongly related to the topic of the blog post? Many Blogspot bloggers fail to utilize the wonders of the images. We often neglect the importance of optimizing the images and it is a common mistake.

If you want to have a good spot in the search engine pages, you don't have to abandon your good old Blogspot blog. By employing the simple and easy tricks mentioned above, it will be easier to befriend with your favorite search engines.
