A kilometer away from the national highway, there's a white-sand beach waiting for visitors. Malatandang beach is located in the municipality of Unisan in Quezon, province. Unlike other beaches in Quezon such as Borawan and Cagbalete, Malatandang beach is infamous.
I first heard about Malatandang Beach from one of my classmates who lives in Unisan. She told me that it is one of the best beaches in Quezon. Since it is strategically located near our place, I made sure that I will visit it together with my sisters.
So, last month, my supportive and beach-lover sisters and me decided to visit Malatandang Beach just for fun. Actually, papa is hesitant to allow us to go there. Duh! Strict parents will always be strict no matter how old they children get. Anyways, he wasn't able to stop us since he's busy in our farm.

We rode a mini bus bound to Unisan and paid 10 php for the fare. We just told the driver that we're going to Malatandang Beach because I don't know where we should alight.
How to get there:
From Lucena Grand Terminal:
Ride a mini bus (60 php) or van (80-90 php) bound to Unisan and tell the driver that you're going to Malatandang Beach.
From SM City Lucena:
Ride a van (80-90 php) bound to Unisan.
You can either alight in the town proper or in Brgy. Ilayang Kalilayan. If you choose to alight in the town proper, you can hire a tricycle and pay for 60 php to 80 php. On the other hand, if you alight in Brgy. Ilayang Kalilayan, there are some tricycles passing by and the fare is 10 php per person.
Things to Remember:
- No need to worry about entrance or environmental fees because it is totally FREE.
- Make sure to rent a bamboo cottage for 100 php.
- There are other resorts in the area.
- Be careful with the nasty jellyfishes (dikya or salabay) These creatures are rampant during summer season. Best if you will bring first aid kit.
- There's a comfort room but the lines tend to get super long we ended up not taking a bath. ( Hahaha! We rode the mini bus and our clothes are still wet.)
- You can buy junk foods and others in the store near the beach.
- Re-apply sunblock as often as you need to.

Up until this day, I'm not that hook with the idea of traveling. I want to travel but I can't give my full attention, time and money to go with my heart's desire. For me, traveling is still a luxury and a break from the monotony of life. Though I'm not always on the road to a new adventure, I make sure that I always have my travel essentials ready.
I've already shared a What's in my Backpack: Travel Blogger Getaway Edition post last year and now I will be sharing a glimpse of my travel essentials. Oh! and by the way, since I'm just a beginner or noob in the whole traveling trend, let me know what else should I add in my essentials. And aside from my essentials, I do want to share some stuff to one lucky blog reader.

It's been four years since the last time I experience being single on Valentine's day and I'm actually happy. I'm not really fond of celebrating it ever since, so, I consider it as a normal day (just like how I treat my birthday).
Even when everyone says that Valentine's is for the taken and in love, of course, even singles like us can enjoy this day.
01. Enjoy a day tour in Mountain Lake Resort
Our TravelBook blogger getaway in Mountain Lake Resort (day 1, day 2 & day 3) is the highlight of my 2016. Now, if you want to have a fun-filled day on Valentine's, book a day tour in Mountain Lake Resort and try the kayak, swan boat , in-water obstacle course, ATV, zipline and a lot more. Plus, don't forget to order cream dory or bulalo. It's beyond words! *wink*
02. Shop for lingerie and beachwear
One of the best things about Valentine's is the fact that most shopping malls and stores put lingerie, underwear, and beachwear to sale. Last Valentine's, I hoard brassieres from the same brand. I even got swimsuits for 150php.
03. Visit Mangayao Park
Mangayao Park is a local government initiative that aims to promote the beauty of Padre Burgos, Quezon. It is the setting of my first legit solo trip and it was epic in an awesome way.
04. Arrange a date with your friends
Call the #singlesquad and enjoy the day. You can go out and watch a movie, have a spa day treat or a pizza-making contest in your own kitchen.
05. Book a staycation in Sequoia Hotel
Personally, I would love to celebrate the day sleeping, eating, reading and staying in Sequoia Hotel. For sure, restaurants are filled with couples of all ages. So, staying in a hotel is better than going out in other places. In other words, I don't need a date this Valentine's a good book and a comfortable place to lounge is enough.

It starts with a tremor. A light pulse. A fever that's slowly creeping in. An itch you could scratch but never could relieve. Dry lips, cold sweat and all. That's how it begins. But if you choose to be brave enough, you might find yourself ending it with those three words. If only to come full circles, yet again. So with courage allow me to ask.
Where to next?

The fun-filled blogger getaway is coming to an end. I would like to extend because I enjoyed it very much. All of the bloggers and Travel Book babes are nice and fun to be with. But since I can't ask for an extension, my last resort is to enjoy and make the most out of the remaining hours of our stay in Mountain Lake Resort.
We headed to the clubhouse for breakfast and the ATV ride. Before we proceed with the actual driving, the staffs taught us how to drive and control the ATV, as well as the precautionary measures. It was my first driving experience and I am more nervous than excited. I'm just glad that my nervousness doesn't ruin the experience. After the ATV ride, I tried the zipline and it was another first for me.
